Željko Krneta has been working at the Faculty of Physical Education in Novi Sad since December 1989, starting at the Centre for Physical Education of Students as a Senior Lecturer in Physical Education at University. After six years of successful work with students from other faculties, in 1998 he was hired at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in the subject of Volleyball as a Teaching Assistant. From 2006-2011 he has been working as a Teaching Assistant on the basics of research in sports and physical education. Since 2011, after defending his doctoral thesis, he has been engaged as an Assistant Professor, and since 2016 as an Associate Professor in the subject group Fundamentals of Research in Sports and Physical Education of Basic Academic Studies and Research Methodology at the Master and Doctoral Studies of the Faculty. His basic field of interest is the application of modern research methods in the field of sports and physical education. In the last ten years, he has been primarily engaged in research on motor skills, cognitive and sociological characteristics of preschoolers. He is the author of four monographs in the field of research methodology, five chapters in monographic editions of national importance of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education from Novi Sad and ten papers in the categories M22 and M23. He is also the author of over fifty papers at journals of M50 category and scientific conferences of international and national importance. During his 30 years at the faculty he has performed a number of important functions: a member of the Faculty Council, the Director of the Center for Sport, the Vice Dean for Science and currently the Head of the Chair for Basic Sport Sciences.
