Boris K. Popovic enrolled in the Faculty of Physical Education in Novi Sad in 1992, where he graduated in June 1997 with an average grade of 9.14. In the same year he enrolled in postgraduate studies, majoring in sports and received his master’s degree in December 2002, with an average grade of 9.17. He received his PhD from the same Faculty in 2010.

He is employed at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad as an associate professor in the subjects “Dances” and “Rhythmic Gymnastics” in bachelor studies, “Diagnostics in physical education and sports”, “Life span motor development” and “Safe and effective exercise for young people” in master studies as well as “Physical exercise Sciences” in doctoral studies. From the 2019/20 school year he was engaged as a visiting professor at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Niksic, University of Montenegro, in the subjects “Dances” and “Physical Composition” in bachelor academic studies.

Currently, the subject of the scientific research work of dr. Boris Popovic is focused on two areas: (1) Motor development and physical fitness of young children and (2) Anthropological status of modern dancers. He is the author or co-author of over 90 research papers, books, chapters in monographs, as well as various press releases presented at various scientific conferences across the country and abroad. He has participated in several professional and scientific conferences abroad as an invited lecturer in the field of motor development and the improving of anthropological status of preschool and young school children using the most varied means of physical exercise. He has been involved or is currently working on several provincial, national as well as international research projects mainly related to the motor development of young children.

He has been a national judge in modern dance since 2004. He was the chairman of the coaching committee of the Serbian Dance Association (SDA) from 2014-2017. He is the current president of the Serbian Dance Association since 2017. He was the coordinator and lecturer in a numerous of specialized subjects within the Program for vocational training of Level III in sports for the title “Sports Operational Dance Coach”, which was realized at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad. He has also lectured at several refereeing and coaching seminars in the field of physical and specific training of dancers, programming of dance training, acrobatics, etc.
