Assistant Professor Sunčica Poček was born on 27.11.1983. In 2002 she enrolled in the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad. She completed her basic academic studies in 2007 with the highest-grade point average of 9.29. Grading in Volleyball: 10. Theme of her thesis: “Technique and tactics of blocking in volleyball”. After basic studies, she continued her education in master studies. In 2006 she enrolled in master studies at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad. She completed her master studies in 2010 with an average grade of 9.85. Master thesis topic: “Specific features of young volleyball players in motor and intellectual functioning”. In 2010 she enrolled in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad, with an average grade of 9.85. She defended her doctoral dissertation in 2015 at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad, earning her the highest academic title of Doctor of Science in Physical Education and Sports. Doctoral dissertation topic: “Specifics of the anthropological status of young volleyball players in Vojvodina”. She participates in numerous scientific projects and testing of top athletes performed in the faculty laboratory. Topics of particular interest in scientific work relate to the explosive power, speed and agility of male and female volleyball players. Some of the main directions and aspirations in scientific research concern (a) standardization of motor skills tests, (b) formation of a comprehensive database on the basis of which standards would be derived in different categories with respect to the age and rank of volleyball competitions, and ) construction of tests of the modern concept of reactive agility, taking into account the cognitive component of performance. Notable achievements in sports: she made her first volleyball steps as a member of VC “Vojvodina” from Novi Sad, then moved on to VC “Poštar” from Zrenjanin. Under the guidance of a renowned coach, Prof. Dr Milenko Vukovic, she blooms to her full player potential. Based on the notable results in her game, she received the invitation of the most awarded coach of the women’s national volleyball team, Zoran Terzic, and was included on the wider list of the junior national team. She also received a call from the top expert coach Darko Zakoč in the selection until the age of 21. She continued her playing career at VC “Poštar” from Belgrade, with which she won third place in the highest ranking of domestic competition. She has been working at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education on the subject of Volleyball since May 19, 2008.
