Maja Batez, PhD, has been employed at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad, since 1999. She graduated in 1999. She was a recipient of scholarship from the World University Service – Austrian Committee for the postgraduate studies program in 2001. She received her master’s degree in 2004 and defended her doctoral dissertation in 2010, also at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Novi Sad. She currently holds a position as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad since 2017. Scientific field of research: Basic scientific disciplines in sport and physical education. At the level of undergraduate academic studies, she teaches Theory and Teaching Methods of Physical Education 1 and Theory and Teaching Methods of Physical Education 2. In addition, she teaches Professional Practice in Physical Education at the master academic studies and Evaluation in Physical Education at the doctoral academic studies. She is also one of the lecturers at the master study program Physical Education, Physical Activity and Health for the following subjects: Life Span Motor Development and Safe and Effective Exercise for Young People. Her research areas are based on years of research in the field of physical education, motor development of children and communication skills in physical education. In 2017, she completed the Staff Training Mobility Program for academic staff at the University of Rome “Foro Italico”. In 2018, she completed the Communication and Presentation Skills training program as part of the academic program “TRAIN” (Training & Research for Academic Newcomers) which is supported by the King Baudouin Foundation Belgium. She has authored and co-authored more than 70 scientific papers and 3 books. Some of the papers have been published in international journals with high impact factor, some in journals of international importance and in journals of national importance: Sports Medicine, BMC Sport Science, Medicine and Rehabilitation, Retos: nuevas tendencias en educación física, deporte y recreación, Archives of Budo, Vojnosanitetski pregled, Facta universitatis – series: Physical Education and Sport, Teme, Studies in Teaching and education, Research in Kinesiology, Sport Mont, Sport i zdravlje. Some of the projects she participated in are: Effects of Differentiated Teaching of Physical Education on Psychosomatic Status of Children and Youth, Anthropological Status and Physical Activity of the Population of Vojvodina, Circadian Changes in Body Structure in Athletes and General Population, Make the Right Choice for Lifelong Health.
