Prof. Ilona Mihajlović, PhD, born on 27.05.1967 in Novi Sad, where she enrolled in the Faculty of Physical Education and graduated in 1991. She obtained her master’s degree with the thesis entitled “Relationships of Anthropometric Characteristics, Motor and Functional Abilities of Children Selected for Athletics with Running Results at 30 meters” in 1996, and defended her doctoral thesis entitled “Determining the Training Levels of Top Athletes by Functional Indicators” in 2000, at the same Faculty. Since 1992 she has been working at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the University of Novi Sad in all ranks, starting as an assistant trainee, and in 2010 she was elected a full-time professor. Her narrower field of work is Basic disciplines in sports and physical education, and she teaches in the group of courses “Athletics” at all levels of study. In several mandates she was a member and chairman of the Faculty Council as well as the Head of the Chair for Individual Sports. She is a representative of the Faculty at the Association of University Teachers of Vojvodina, the President of the Faculty Publishing Committee, a Person for Occupational Safety and Health at the Faculty licensed by the Republic of Serbia, as well as a member of other faculty and university bodies. In her career, she has published dozens of scientific and professional papers, scripts and a textbook. She participates as a lecturer at various professional seminars and scientific conferences. She is also a member of the Commission for Licensing Physical Education Teachers of the Republic of Serbia. She has participated as a researcher in several multi-annual projects, funded by the line republic and provincial ministries, as well as the Republic of Srpska Ministry. She is a member of the peer review board of one professional and one scientific journal and was the reviewer of 7 scientific books and textbooks. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Athletic Association of Vojvodina for two terms, a member of the Board of Directors of the Academic Athletics Club of Novi Sad and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Athletics Association of Vojvodina (ASV). She is an active associate of the Red Cross of Vojvodina and the Blood Transfusion Institute of Vojvodina. She speaks English and Hungarian.
